Sam Raimi Three Stooges Documentary To Explore Secret Love Triangle
For Sam Raimi and his brother Ivan, their 9-hour documentary “Nyuk-Nyuk-Nyuk” has been a labor of love. The documentary will take a look at the iconic Three Stooges, their violent slapstick comedy, and their secret love triangle. But it’s about so much more. In some ways, a lot of ways, it’s about the golden age of Hollywood and the comedic roots of queer television.
For most of us, it’s common knowledge that the Three Stooges were gay, but during the heyday of Hollywood, major studios swept anything and everything gay under the rug to protect their interests. However, some stories are too gay to be kept under a rug. Below is a quote from “Nyuk-Nyuk-Nyuk” director Sam Raimi …
“The Three Stooges had this special kind of love,” Raimi said. “That’s what mattered, and it was real. It was real among all three of them. Our 9-hour documentary will tell you everything you need to know about the Three Stooges and their secret love triangle. And when all is said and done, you might just be a raging fan.”
Now, you might be asking yourself, “All three of them? Weren’t Moe and Curly brothers?” Well, that’s a common misconception. They were actually distant cousins but pretended to be brothers because it made for a better story (after all, would two brothers get it on with each other? Exactly). The BloJo Movie Network asked the Raimi brothers if they could talk more about the details of their documentary and what they hoped to accomplish. They replied at the same time, “Why soitenly!”
“We grew up on the Three Stooges. So naturally, as fans we wanted to tell the story of their secret partnership. In our 9-hour documentary ‘Nyuk-Nyuk-Nyuk’, we explore everything -- the sex, the drugs, every pie to the face, every double poke to the eye, every smack, slap, and bonk to the noggin. Look, they were more than just these funny lookin’ guys who liked to hit each other. They were lovers. Isn’t that nuts? They were hitting each other with sledgehammers and scalding each other with hot irons for our pleasure, but behind closed doors they were pleasing each other. We want to share that funny and heartwarming story with the world and acknowledge the truth behind their secrets.”
When asked if 9 hours was too long for a documentary about the Three Stooges, Sam replied, “Oh. Wise guy, eh? Why I oughta! Nyuk-Nyuk-Nyuk! Woo, Woo, Woo, Woo!”
After the interview, the BloJo Movie Network learned that news photos, animation, interviews and black-and-white reenactments would be used in the documentary. They were also told that there would be a key scene, a sexual encounter between Moe and Curly that would be re-enacted by Sam and Ivan. They are hoping to premiere their 9-hour documentary at Cannes Food Festival next year.

In other news, the term Buttery Serendipitous Handjob is now trending on Twirler. It’s the act of poking one’s penis through a bag of buttery popcorn that you are sharing with another movie goer. So grab a bag of popcorn and we’ll see you at the movies.
