Jordan Peele drops out of Puff Daddy’s Stephen King reboot Diddy Did It

Jordan Peele has reportedly exited the director's chair for Puff Daddy's much-anticipated horror flick “Diddy Did It,” an African American adaptation of Stephen King's “It.” Yes, you read that right: we were this close to seeing Diddy dressed as a deranged clown, lurking in sewers, holding dildos, and whispering ominously, "You’ll be Diddled down here... we all get Diddled down here."

It's not every day you can say you're genuinely excited about a movie that combines a hip-hop mogul and a nightmare-inducing clown, but here we are. Fans of Peele’s socially conscious horror films like “Get Out” and “Us” were ready for him to put his unique spin on King’s tale of Pennywise and the Losers' Club. But Peele, perhaps wisely, decided the world wasn’t ready for “Diddywise.”

However, fear not! Rumor has it Peele is already eyeing another Stephen King classic to give the African American treatment — “Children of the Corn.” Only this time, it’s called “Children of the Ghetto.”

The plot? A white suburban family gets lost and takes a wrong turn, leading them straight to the ghetto, where they’re haunted by a gang of possessed children who’ve traded in scythes for switchblades. One minute you’re just trying to escape rising property taxes, the next you’re running for your life through the ghetto. I can already picture the tense, psychological horror Peele could craft from this.

But back to *Diddy Did It* — will the project ever see the light of day? Could Diddy himself step in as director? Or maybe the role of *Diddywise* can be filled by another hip-hop legend. Imagine Snoop Dogg or Lil Wayne down in the sewers, looking menacing. Or, better yet, Jay-Z or Beyoncé as the terrifying clown. Anyway, I guess we'll just have to wait and see what’s next for Jordan Peele and Puff Daddy. Will this project forever be a "what could have been" scenario? Only time will tell what the future holds for all involved.
