Amazon's symbol looks like a penis
Amazon, the e-commerce giant, has been delivering packages to our doorsteps for decades. But little did we know, their logo was delivering something else entirely, a subtle (or not-so-subtle) nod to the male anatomy.
Yes, folks, the Amazon symbol, which combines the letters “a” and “z” with an arrow pointing from “a” to “z,” bears an uncanny resemblance to a certain part of the male body. It’s as if the designers thought, “You know what would make our logo stand out? A phallic symbol!”
We’re not the only ones who’ve noticed this coincidence. The internet is full of memes and jokes about the Amazon logo’s “unique” shape. Some have even taken to calling it the “Amazon Schlong.” The arrow’s upward tilt seems like a subtle nod to confidence, possibly overcompensating, given the company’s tendency to crush mom-and-pop stores. And don’t even get me started on the tip. Rounded, precise, and undeniably… suggestive. Coincidence? Sure. But also, probably not.
Consider this: every time you hit “Add to Cart,” are you really shopping for headphones and bath mats? Or are you submitting to the allure of Bezos’s big, bold branding? That logo practically winks at you from the browser tab. And when your package arrives with that unmistakable arrow staring back at you, it feels like you’re part of some elaborate marketing Freudian slip.
But don’t worry, Amazon; we still love you (and your packages). We just can’t help but giggle every time we see that logo. Maybe it’s time to consider a redesign? Or maybe not, as they say, “any publicity is good publicity!”
So, the next time you’re shopping on Amazon, remember: that logo is delivering more than just packages. It’s delivering a healthy dose of humor and a reminder that sometimes, design can be a little too literal.
Thanks for the laughs, Amazon! (And, uh, the packages too.)
